New venue of concern listed for southern NSW

Health authorities in NSW have alerted residents in southern NSW of a new venue of concern visited by confirmed case of COVID-19.

Anyone who attended Foodworks at 152 Sheridan Street in Gundagai, on May 19 between 11am and 12pm have been told to monitor for symptoms after a member of a family who tested positive to the virus visited the venue while holidaying from Victoria.

Anyone who develops symptoms consistent with COVID-19 has been urged to get tested immediately and self-isolate until a negative result is received.

The news comes as NSW records another day of zero locally acquired cases of COVID-19 with nearly 20,000 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.

There have so far been no identified cases of community transmission after the family tested positive last Wednesday despite thousands coming forward for testing across the south coast.

State health authorities are continuing to urge those who live in the region, or passed through it on the morning of May 19, to check the NSW Health website regularly for updates on exposure sites.
