No local coronavirus cases in NSW for the 18th consecutive day

NSW has recorded no new local cases of coronavirus for the 18th consecutive day.

There were four cases in hotel quarantine, Premier Gladys Berejiklian said.

NSW Chief Health Officer Dr Kerry Chant said there are no patients in the state in intensive care but urged people to continue getting tests.

"Last night we issued an alert in relation to a detection in the Liverpool sewerage system and if members of the community go to our website, they will find that the catchment for the detection," Dr Chant said.

"We are using sewerage surveillance to give us that early detection and highlight areas where we may be concerned transmission is occurring undetected.

"And so, I would call out to people in south-western Sydney more broadly, but in the Liverpool sewerage catchment area, to please come forward for testing with the most minimal of symptoms, (it) will really help us of these opening up the community and easing restrictions to make sure we detect any undetected disease in the community."
