Border restrictions between NSW, regional Victoria and South Australia could soon be eased with state health officials expected to meet today for discussions.
Locals in regional Victorian communities could soon be allowed to travel in and out of NSW freely, with Premier Gladys Berejikilian considering the changes.
Regional Victoria has recorded just one new coronavirus case since September 17 and medical experts are backing the Prime Minister's calls to reopen the borders.

While Melbourne recorded just 16 new cases yesterday, they won't be included in the border lift until lockdown restrictions are lifted.
Ms Berejikilian is still pushing for Queensland to open its borders to NSW, after just four new cases recorded yesterday.
And now, South Australia could reopen to NSW residents within days.

South Australia's premier says there are "good signs" it could drop restrictions - despite concerns over a Sydney taxi driver who accepted passengers for a total of nine days while potentially infectious.
Health officials there are due to meet today to talk about the proposed reopening.
South Australia recorded no new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24-hours.
