Mum finally meets couple who brought daughter home

A couple who brought a little girl home to her parents from India have finally had the chance to thank their helpers after quarantine ended.

Greshma's daughter Presha, aged three, was holidaying with her grandparents in India when COVID-19 struck.

Not being an Australian citizen, Greshma was unable to bring Presha home herself, so she took to social media.

Brisbane couple Shailesh and Neha, who were in India at the time, put up their hands to help.

The newlyweds ushered little Presha back to Adelaide, where she was reunited with mum.

The couple went straight into quarantine, but Greshma said Presha was determined to call them every day.

And today, after 14 days of isolation, Greshma was able to properly thank them in person.

Though she has a fairytale ending, Greshma said there were many other families ripped apart by the pandemic, with hundreds of Australians still fighting to get home from overseas.

"I don't want to just be a story, but inspire others as well – we need to help each other," Greshma said.
