More 'Corn Flake' weed washes up on Gold Coast beaches
Beaches across Queensland's Gold Coast have again been covered in a cereal-like seaweed stretching kilometres.
Several beaches were hit with the "Corn Flake" weed over the weekend with locals advised not to swim or play near the species due to sea lice, bluebottles and sea snakes which are all attracted to the weed.

While the weed isn't dangerous, experts warn blue bottles, sea lice and snakes may be attracted to it. 9News
It has been a regular occurrence on Queensland's coast over summer with strong northerly winds pushing it in from the ocean.
The phenomenon is expected to continue for at least another month as northerlies continue to bring it onto the beaches.
