Sniffer dogs help hunt for offender after shooting and assault

A man is recovering in hospital after he was shot in Geelong's northern suburbs.
Police said the 24-year-old man had been assaulted before he was shot in the leg about 2.10am on Monday in Corio.
The man managed to make his way to home on Browallia Drive before he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Armed Crime Squad detectives are searching for his attacker, who remains on the run.
Investigators sent sniffer dogs to a park on Henley Street close to the victim's house as part of their investigations.
The 24-year-old remains in a stable condition at Geelong University Hospital.
