Convicted conman Peter Foster arrested on the Gold Coast

Convicted conman Peter Foster has been arrested on the Gold Coast over fraud related issues.

Foster was taken into custody at the Southport Watchhouse this morning and will face a Gold Coast court today.

It's understood police may apply to have him extradited to New South Wales on Monday.

Foster, who has been arrested several times in the past over weight loss scams as well as absconding from justice, was most recently released from jail in October 2015, after a judge granted him early release.

He was doing time after he spent thirteen months on the run, avoiding being sentenced for his part in the weightloss scam Sensalim.

He was finally found in a Byron Bay hideout by Channel 9's A Current Affair in 2014.
