Controversial Queensland seat of Ferny Grove goes to Labor

Queensland is still without an election result with 56 seats finalised and 33 still to go.

The Labor party has claimed the seat of Ferny Grove with 14,225 compared to the Liberal National Party's 13,816.

The disqualified Palmer United Party MP received 993 votes. The matter will go to court.

The LNP said the governor will want to hold off deciding who won the election until Ferny Grove is settled, which could take months.

It came as the major parties debated over whether Annastacia Palaszczuk gate crashed the governor's mansion.

The LNP has decided it was wrong for the Labor leader to visit the governor for 40 minutes after former premier Campbell Newman left.

"We don't know if Annastacia was invited and Jackie doesn't know if she was invited," LNP MP Scott Emerson said.

"The important thing here is that politicians aren't pressuring the governor to make a decision."

Governor Paul de Jersey "thought it was courteous and appropriate".

"If it was inappropriate the governor would not have sat down with Annastacia, is it normal and it is right," Labor MP Jackie Trad said.
