Connie Johnson to be farewelled in Melbourne service next week

Connie Johnson will be farewelled in a service in Melbourne next Saturday.

Her brother, Samuel Johnson, posted the information on the Love Your Sister Facebook page today.

“Connie Cottonsock's village service will be in Melbourne on the 23rd. Just wanted to give a heads up to any interstate villagers planning to attend. Xsam,” the post read.

Ms Johnson, 40, died in a Canberra hospice last week surrounded by family after a battling cancer three times in her life.

The post also confirmed the service will be live streamed to the hundreds of thousands of people who follow the page on Facebook.

Dozens of people have commented on the post from all over Australia, saying they will attend.

“I will be there, tears and all,” one person wrote.

“We will be there in spirit. Hold her boys tight Sam,” another posted.

“I will be there with my arms open wide for hugs to everyone who needs one.”

Ms Johnson and her brother founded the Love Your Sister charity in 2012 to raise money for cancer research.

In the past five years, they have raised a staggering $5,605,000 for the cause.
