Connie Johnson gets some unlikely help in hospice care

Connie Johnson had some unique nursing help today at the Canberra hospice where she's undergoing care, but even her brother's not too sure about the medico's identity.

Samuel Johnson, Connie's actor brother and co-campaigner in Love Your Sister, posted photos of the four-legged visitor named Hercules.

The Gold Logie-winner wasn't sure if it was a llama or an alpaca but said "it cheered everyone up none the less".

"Another winning play form the legends at Clare Holland House," Johnson wrote.

Connie went into hospice care a few days ago.

"Con's needed a lot of quiet time lately to try and comprehend the total headf---ery that 'actively dying' brings," the actor wrote.

She has fought cancer three times in her 40 years, with her last diagnosis of breast cancer seven years ago.

However, she's defied all odds - at the time she was only given six months to live.

She withdrew from treatment about a month ago to spend more time with her partner, her two boys Willoughby and Hamilton.

Together with Samuel, they've managed to raise over $4 million for cancer research through the Love Your Sister campaign.
