Two years after Katy Perry’s out-of-sync back-up dancer Left Shark captured the hearts of thousands of Super Bowl viewers, another dancer has been filmed falling off a stage mid-performance.

The accident, which occurred during Perry’s performance of latest single Chained to the Rhythm at the BRIT Awards, was filmed by an audience member and posted to Twitter.

The five-second video shows a number of dancers wearing black tights and house-shaped costumes milling about on stage.

One of the dancers, apparently disoriented due to the costume covering their face, then wanders towards the edge of the stage before plunging into the audience.

The video has received thousands of retweets and likes.

The adorably awkward Left Shark became a cultural phenomenon after the dancer – who was one of a pair wearing a shark costume – appeared to go rogue during a 2015 Super Bowl XLIX performance.

Left Shark’s exploding popularity sparked a number of efforts by entrepreneurs hoping to make a quick buck selling related merchandise.

However, Perry’s lawyers vigorously defended the US artist’s copyright of the costume with a series of cease and desist letters.
