Commonwealth Games volunteer uniforms revealed

The uniforms for thousands of Commonwealth Games volunteers have been unveiled on the Gold Coast.

The outfits created by Hard Yakka feature citrus and blue colours inspired by the surf and sand in a breathable fabric.

Features include pants that can zip off to become shorts and a panama hat for sun safety.

The artwork on the front of the uniforms has been created by a local indigenous artist while the inside features a message from the Governor General.

Today 4500 volunteers have begun the first of three full house training sessions covering spectator services, event coordination and management.

A total of 15 thousand volunteers will continue training over the next 144 days through in person and online courses.
