Remaining Gold Coast Commonwealth Games tickets now on sale
The 250,000 remaining tickets for next year's Commonwealth Games have gone on general sale, including seats for the marquee men's 100 metres final.
While events such as the opening ceremony, rugby sevens and netball finals are sold out, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games Corporation (GOLDOC) chairman Peter Beattie said many sought after events remained available.
"The opening ceremony is absolutely sold out and will be fantastic but so will the closing ceremony," Mr Beattie said.
"We expect those (remaining tickets) to be sold over the next few months - 250,000 is still a lot of tickets ... The real key to it is when you go online today, it's first-in, best-dressed.
"Some of the great athletic competitions are still available, for example the 100m final, there's still opportunities."
GOLDOC initially offered tickets in an expressions of interest ballot followed by a two-day pre-sale for those who missed out in ballot.
The remaining tickets were put up for sale at 9am today.
Tickets are available at www.gc2018.com.
