Clue might have been missed in Vic murder

A vital clue in the murder of Melbourne mum Kylie Blackwood might have been missed because of a blunder by a bank.

The unnamed bank failed to report the attempted use of a bank card taken from Ms Blackwood and used on the day she was murdered on August 1 last year, News Corp Australia reports.

Security camera footage of a man was also erased by the bank before homicide investigators could review it.

Ms Blackwood's body was found by her 11-year-old twin daughters in their family home when they returned from school.

Victoria Police did not comment on the report, but released a description of a man they want to speak to about the murder.

The man is described as Caucasian, about 175cm tall, with a medium build and aged in his late 20s to early 30s.

He is believed to have been in Main Street, Pakenham between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Thursday 1 August, last year.

Detectives have previously said they believe the 42-year-old mother-of-three may have been killed by a would-be burglar.

Witnesses reported seeing a man acting suspiciously on Eagle Drive, and then The Avenue, before the discovery of Ms Blackwood's body in nearby McCaffrey Rise.
