Clive Palmer denies party divisions

Full of love, friendship and unity - that's how Clive Palmer describes his party room despite reports of a falling out between his two most prominent senators.

There are reports Glenn Lazarus and Jacqui Lambie are at odds over the Senate leadership position.

Senator Lazarus is the Palmer United Party's Senate leader but News Corp says Senator Lambie wants the job.

The pair appeared cosy when they emerged from a party room meeting on Thursday morning.

"There was Glenn holding hands with Jacqui as she stepped forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek," Mr Palmer told reporters later.

"I normally take a kiss as something about love and friendship and unity.

"I've never seen Julia (sic) Bishop kiss Tony Abbott yet. I've never seen seen Tanya Pablersek (sic) kiss Bill Shorten."

Mr Palmer earlier described Senator Lambie as a "novice senator finding her way".

Senator Lazarus described the reports as "a load of rubbish".

"Jacqui and I are tighter than ever," he said. "We're rock solid."
