Clean-up underway after water main bursts in East Lindfield

A clean-up is underway at an apartment building in East Lindfield. (9NEWS) 

An apartment complex in East Lindfield, in Sydney’s north, has been evacuated after a water main burst in the building.

Ten units have been damaged by water on the Tryon Road complex, as well as ten cars in the underground carpark which were submerged.

Firefighters were called about 3.20am and 12 people were forced the leave their apartments.

“A water main burst on the street which has entered into the apartment block and flooded the ground floor units, then it has gone down into the basement,” a NSW Fire & Rescue spokeswoman told 9news.com.au.

Two NSW Fire & Rescue crews remain at the scene to pump the remainder of the water out of the carpark.
