Christopher Pyne fixes Star Wars

Christopher Pyne's now infamous "Mr Fix-It" interview has been hilariously inserted into a Star Wars scene that depicts the education minister as one of Darth Vader's evil henchmen.

In a flawless editing of Mr Pyne's widely-mocked Sky News interview last week, Australian satirist Huw Parkinson has inserted the Liberal MP into an iconic scene from the first Star Wars film, 1977's A New Hope, in which the Empire's top military brass squabbles over the defence budget.

In the short clip Star Wars: Fixed, which is set "a short time ago in a galaxy very near Canberra" and uploaded online overnight, Mr Pyne repeatedly reassures the Empire: "I've dealt with it."

"I'm a fixer. I've fixed it," he says with a mischievous smirk as he refuses to tell the "secret" of how he did it.

It's the perfect use of Mr Pyne's Sky interview last week after his plane to deregulate the higher education sector was blocked in the Senate.

Mr Pyne, when forced to reject Labor's claim that he had suffered a "humiliating failure", told Sky host David Speers that he had found another way to push the unpopular reforms through the upper house.

It's the latest mashup of politicians and films by Mr Parkinson, who has previously inserted the cast of Seinfeld into the lower house and had Tony Abbott make an uproarious best man's speech in Four Weddings and Funeral.
