Christmas cheer goes wrong as man arrested in Sydney street brawl

We’ve all had those Christmas lunches or post-eggnog discussions that have turned nasty.

But one Sydney man has ended up spending Boxing Day in the cells after police were called to break up a brawl at Casula in Sydney’s west this morning.

Dramatic footage of the arrest has emerged, with 9NEWS capturing the moment two fighting in a driveway on Ingham Drive were confronted by police officers.

As the officers move in to break up the fight, one man allegedly turned on the officers who grapple with them before being force to tackle him to the ground.

Police said one man had been arrested and was still in custody.

No one has been charged at this stage and the cause of the brawl is unknown.

Police spoke with several other people at the scene.
