China's move to cap carbon pollution with an emissions trading scheme is proof Labor is walking in step with the rest of the world, the federal opposition says.
China is reportedly planning to introduce a nation-wide ETS, the same broad policy Labor wants in Australia to reduce emissions.
Opposition Leader Bill Shorten told reporters in Victoria Labor wanted real action on climate change while accusing Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull of abandoning his preference for an ETS for "Tony Abbott's failed schemes".
