Driver slams into family car

A terrified child can be heard screaming as a driver smashes into a young family’s car on a NSW highway, on dashcam footage.

The driver, Tyler Heycox, escaped serious punishment after slamming into the oncoming car on Kings Highway, south-west of Sydney, The Daily Telegraph reports.

Footage shows the terrifying moment a Toyota RAV4 allegedly being driven by Heycox, 35, crosses the double white lines on the Southern Tablelands highway. 

The vehicle could be seen travelling behind another vehicle on the opposite side of the road, before it lost control and hit the Toyota Hilux on December 27.

As the crash happens, a young child can be heard saying “no” and then screaming.

A man can also be heard screaming after the impact.

It is believed a father and two children, aged 13 and 16, were in the vehicle and escaped with minor injuries.

Heycox was reportedly charged with negligent driving, which would not require him to appear before a court.
