Charges laid after Gold Coast man shot in the face

Two men have been charged over an attack on a man who checked himself into a Gold Coast hospital with a gunshot wound to his face.

The shooting happened at an Ashmore residence early yesterday, with the injured man presenting himself at the hospital about 4am after being driven there.

Yesterday afternoon, police arrested a 21-year-old man and last night a 22-year-old man handed himself in at Southport police station.

Both men have been charged with one count each of entering a dwelling with intent, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and robbery.

The weapon allegedly involved has been seized by police.

Both men are to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
