Man suffers serious arm injury in chainsaw accident

A man has suffered a serious injury to one of his arms in a chainsaw accident in the NSW Blue Mountains.

The 22-year-old was working at Oakura Ave, Woodford, when the accident happened just after midday.

The arborist had to climb down the tree while bleeding severely.

The was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.

Inspector Steve Lobley from NSW Ambulance said the man "had a significant laceration to his forearm".

"We need to stay vigilant, there are so many hazards at a worksite," he said.

"It's an important reminder to take all precautions when at work. Keep an eye on your workmates."
