Unseen police footage exposes two of Australia's most notorious fraudsters
Ground-breaking interviews and unseen police footage on Inside Story have exposed two of Australia’s most notorious fraudsters.
Timid Sydney accountant Rajina Subramaniam, the greatest con-woman the nation has ever seen, stole $45 million from her employers at business giant ING Australia before going on a spectacular spending spree.
Remarkably, her crimes went unnoticed for years, even as she stashed boxes of designer clothing worth thousands under her desk at work.
Inside Story also investigated another noted fraudster, Dimitri De Angelis, the “Photoshop conman”.
De Angelis would digitally manipulate photos to add his own image alongside some of the world’s most notable people, including Kerry Packer, Bill Clinton and even the Dalai Lama.
He pretended to be connected to European nobility, worming his way into the lives of some of Australia’s richest people.
