Car stuck on train tracks for more than nine hours in Sydney's west

A recovery operation remains underway to remove a car that has been stuck on train tracks in Sydney's west since 9am.

The car overshot a parking space, crashing through a fence and coming to a halt in the rail corridor at Park Road, Auburn.

The male driver was the only person in the car. He was taken to Auburn Hospital with minor injuries.

People travelling on the Inner West and Leppington Sydney Metro train line were able to see the crashed car on their commute.

The car landed on a maintenance track so it did not cause any delays despite warnings for commuters to allow extra travel time.

Works to remove the car are continuing.
