Car smashes into three others after 'gunpoint carjacking'

A man has been charged after allegedly stealing a car from a man at gunpoint and colliding with several others at a Brisbane intersection.

Police allege the grey Ford Falcon sedan was stolen from a 33-year-old man at Priestdale Road in Rochedale around 5.30pm last night and was seen speeding on Pinelands Drive in Runcorn.

Video from the Queensland Police helicopter showed the vehicle enter the intersection of Beenleigh Road and Mains Road at Sunnybank and collide with several cars.

Police allege the driver then attempted to steal the car of a motorist who had stopped to help.

Six people were injured in the crash and have been taken to hospital.

A 23-year-old man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and two counts of unlawful entry of a motor vehicle. He was expected to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Police are searching for a man and two women believed to have been with the man when the car was stolen in Rochedale.

Anyone that may know the woman (pictured) or has seen her is asked to not approach her and to contact police immediately.
