Footage of car could be key to catching great-grandmother’s killer

Identifying a maroon, late-90s model Toyota Camry with distinctive grey and orange car seat covers, could be the key to catching great-grandmother Helen Dawson Key’s killer.

Her family are heartbroken, but hopeful.

At about 6pm on November 19 last year, the 75-year-old great-grandmother came to the front door of her Paris Place home in Toongabbie, in Sydney’s west, where she was shot dead.

Her body was discovered by a friend the following day.

Police believe the attack was targeted.

Detectives also need assistance identifying a man dressed in dark clothing with a distinct limp, seen in nearby McCoy Park at about the same time.

It is the apparent lack of any motive in this case which has some of the state's most experience detectives baffled.
