A car has burst into flames in Sydney's south-west after it collided with a motorcycle.

The crash took place on Copperfield Drive in Ambarvale at about 12pm today.

The 21-year-old rider was seriously injured in the crash.

He was taken to Liverpool Hospital.

The 65-year-old driver was treated for minor injuries.

The car fire was later extinguished.
