A sophisticated cannabis growing set-up has been discovered inside a home in Canberra’s north.

Police searched a property at Cumptson Place, Macgregor, yesterday morning and seized 260 cannabis plants, 100kg of cannabis leaf and a large amount of hydroponic equipment.

Officers arrested Trong Tan Ho, 26, and charged him with cultivating a commercial quantity of a controlled plant for sale.

The Sydney man faced the ACT Magistrates Court today and was granted bail under strict conditions.

He’s been ordered to stay at a home in Cabramatta and surrender his passport.

Investigators said the haul is part of an ongoing operation aimed at disrupting the production, distribution and trafficking illicit drugs in Canberra.

Mr Ho did not enter pleas. He will face court again next month.
