Canberra axe-murderer to be sentenced

A Canberra man who killed his ex-partner with an axe as she held her five-day-old daughter in her arms is set to be sentenced.
Marcus Rappel has pleaded guilty to murdering mother of three Tara Costigan in February 2015.
She was murdered in front of her sons, aged nine and 11 at the time.

He will be sentenced by Justice John Burns in the ACT Supreme Court on Friday morning.
