National Retail Association calls for consistency on essential workers
A leading retail group has called for consistency in what governments consider essential workers in lockdown situations.
The call for clarity comes after Queensland's Health Minister Yvette D'ath today said retail shopping "is not essential" in the state's current tough lockdown.

The line between essential and non-essential retail has become increasingly blurred. Nine
Dominique Lamb, CEO of the National Retail Association, called for a list of what's considered essential and what isn't that will help guide both workers and employers.
"Right now, there is no essential services list," Ms Lamb said.
Retailers are desperate to have an "essential services" list during lockdown. Nine
"If a list comes into play … potentially our retailers will be able to negotiate different outcomes with landlords."
Queensland Health has said it's up to standalone businesses to use common sense and make the call themselves.
