Jack de Belin co-accused charged
Police have charged junior rugby league player Callan Sinclair with aggravated sexual assault over an alleged incident in Wollongong last week.
Sinclair was arrested at a Shell Cove home on the New South Wales south coast this morning and questioned by officers over the incident in an apartment.
St George Dragons star Jack de Belin has already been charged over the alleged attack.
The alleged victim told police she got into a Pedi Cab with de Belin and Sinclair after a pre-Christmas pub crawl on Crown Street.
The 19-year-old claims they told her they were going to another venue, but instead took her to an apartment block so they could change clothes.
She said she went upstairs to use the bathroom and when she came out the pair were naked. She alleges this is when she was sexually assaulted.
The woman received medical treatment at a local hospital after telling a girlfriend what had happened.
Both Sinclair and de Belin have received conditional bail and Sinclair is scheduled to appear at Wollongong Local Court on February 12 next year.
9News does not suggest de Belin or Sinclair are guilty of any offence, only that both men have been charged.
