Driver killed after van hits pole in Sydney's southwest
A driver has died after crashing his van into a pole in Sydney's southwest.
Police and paramedics were called to the corner of Railway Parade and Hughes Parade, Cabramatta just after 8.30am today, after reports a van had collided with a traffic pole.
Four car crews attended and emergency officers worked to free the 67-year-old driver from the wreckage, however he died from his injuries at the scene.

"It was a heartbreaking scene when we arrived," NSW Ambulance Inspector John Brotherhood said.
"The man was trapped and everyone was working together to try and free him.
"Paramedics managed to get to the man while he was still inside the car and started life saving treatment."
"Once he was freed, they worked tirelessly to try and save him – but despite their best efforts there was nothing they could do.
Emergency crews worked to free the man from the wreckage but he died from his injuries at the scene. 9News
"It is a really devastating outcome, notwithstanding what the family will be experiencing – they have lost someone they loved dearly today and our hearts go out to them."
A crime scene has been established and Railway Parade is closed both directions between Arthur and Hughes Street.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area as traffic is heavy.
