Bus stopwork for some Adelaide services

Adelaide bus drivers are striking for four hours on Friday as part of their industrial campaign for better wages and safer working conditions.

Transport Workers Union (TWU) state secretary Ray Wyatt said the 10am to 2pm (CDT) stoppage is likely to cause disruptions to SouthLink services in the outer northern and southern suburbs, as well as the Adelaide Hills.

Unionised drivers, who want a five per cent pay increase, will be meeting to discuss the company's three per cent offer.

The drivers and their unionised colleagues at Transfield Services have not been collecting fares or enforcing ticket validation as part of the campaign.
