Bunnings sausage sizzles on their way back

The iconic Bunnings sausage sizzle will return to some stores in October after a long hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Bunnings Chief Operating Officer Deb Poole confirmed the news on Ben Fordham Live, saying the charity driven event will be back in ACT stores from this Saturday.

"Our Bunnings community sausage sizzles are returning to NSW and the ACT this month," Ms Poole told Ben Fordham this morning.

The ACT sausage sizzle resumes in some stores from October 3, with NSW following from October 10.

"It just means so much to so many people because it supports a lot of community causes and raises a lot of funds with community groups."

Ms Poole confirmed additional safety measures will also be in place at the sausage sizzles to ensure coronavirus protocols are met.

"We've got 130 community groups lined up for the first weekend in NSW alone and they include Rotary, the Salvos, Scouts and the Lions Club and also a lot of the local sports groups as well.," Ms Poole said.

"From around 9am, you should come down and support your local community groups and buy yourself a wonderful sausage."
