Budget must set blueprint for growth: MCA
AAP
The Turnbull government's pre-election budget needs to be a multi-year blueprint for economic growth and improved living standards, the Minerals Council of Australia says.
"The 2016/17 budget should be a circuit breaker that levels with the Australian people on the economic challenges facing the country," the council's chief executive Brendan Pearson said, releasing its budget submission.
The mining industry body is calling for `one-stop shop' reforms to make project approval processes more efficient without compromising environmental outcomes, the Fair Work Act to better align to workplace incentives with enterprise flexibility and a phased reduction in the corporate tax rate.
