Teenage girl undergoes brain surgery after bashing

A teenage girl is fighting for life in a Brisbane hospital after being bashed by a group of people.

The 15-year-old was set upon on a main road at Warwick, southwest of Brisbane, in the early hours yesterday when she was walking home from a party. 

She was treated at the local base hospital before being airlifted to Brisbane in a serious condition with life threatening injuries.

She underwent emergency brain surgery yesterday but is still in a critical but stable condition.

Investigations continue and police are asking for witnesses to come forward.
