Man fined for drink driving Lime scooter

A father has pleaded guilty to riding an electronic scooter while more than three and a half times the legal blood alcohol limit.

Anthony Lee Preston returned a blood alcohol reading of .174 after being pulled over for running a red light on James Street in Fortitude Valley in January.

Mr Preston said he “thought he was doing the right thing” and “just wanted to get home” when he chose to ride the Lime scooter.

A magistrate today called Mr Preston’s behavior "stupid" and fined him $400.
