Breakfast Point's final waterfront property hits the market

It was once used as a blacksmith's workshop and now the last remaining waterfront property at Sydney's Breakfast Point is up for sale.

Dwarfed by apartments in the purpose-built suburb in the city's Inner West, the 3300 square metre block sitting at the bottom of the point, on the Paramatta River, is expected to sell for upwards of $8 million.

Built in 1891, the bones of the building are stunning with ancient beams and bricks intact.

Its heritage listing means buyers may be limited – they could convert it into a commercial space, a grand home or lobby council to allow more apartments.

The site is zoned for medium density.

"I think it would make a stunning reception venue, beautiful restaurant," selling agent Peter Vines from Ray White Commercial, said.

A property down the road that was just 700 sqm recently fetched $7.5 million.

Local resident Robert Ronsisvalle wouldn't be opposed to more units.

"I imagine its best use is two apartments, perhaps," he said.

The property is being sold by expressions of interest.
