Tony Nutt - federal director

* Took over from Brian Loughnane in December 2015. Prior to this he was state director of the NSW Liberals. Has been a political staffer and campaign adviser for more than 35 years.

LABOR

George Wright - Labor national secretary

* Worked in private sector as well as ACTU, Finance Sector Union and United Voice. Key figure in the Your Rights at Work campaign which helped unseat the Howard government in 2007.

* Campaign HQ based in Melbourne.

NATIONALS

Scott Mitchell - federal director

* Has held top job in Nationals since March 2012. Served for five years as chief of staff to a West Australian minister. Managed trade policy with the National Farmers Federation. Adviser to former trade minister Mark Vaile. Has been involved in election campaigns in Victoria and NSW as well as federal campaigns.

* Based in Canberra.
