Police hunt 'Trolley Man' over burglaries, bail breach

Authorities are searching for the man who was dubbed ‘Trolley Man’ after last week’s terror attack on Bourke Street, Melbourne.

Detectives have told 9News Michael Rogers, 46, is wanted over a number of recent burglaries in the CBD and St Kilda areas, along with a breach of bail conditions.

Mr Rogers, who is homeless, garnered widespread acclaim on social media after video emerged of him trying to stop offender Hassan Khalif Shire Ali with a metal trolley.

“I just wanted to help and do something right for the first time in me (sic) life,” he told The Age on Monday.

The newspaper revealed Mr Rogers has served jail time in the past, and has had issues with drugs.

In wake of the terror attack, a crowdfunding campaign was launched for the 46-year-old, raising more than $100,000 in just a few days.
