Bourke St donations to be tax deductible

Donations made to the families of victims of the Bourke Street attack through a trust fund will be tax deductible.

Finance Minister Kelly O'Dwyer on Thursday introduced to parliament a bill that, once passed, will apply to gifts made after January 20 and before January 21, 2022.

Six people died - including a three-month old boy - and many others were injured when a driver ploughed through pedestrians in Melbourne's CBD in January.
