Each year more than 65,000 Queenslanders are being admitted to hospitals for symptoms related to alcohol, tobacco or other drugs, discussion paper says.

The Queensland Mental Health Commission paper, released on Tuesday, also found those factors contribute to the deaths of more than 4000 people in the state annually.
