Bones found under floorboards of Queensland house

Renovators have found skeletal remains under the floorboards of an abandoned house west of Brisbane.

A crime scene has been established at the Ipswich home after the discovery was made on Monday afternoon.

The site was kept under police guard overnight, with officers awaiting tests to confirm whether or not the bones are human.

The find was made as the Brisbane Street house was being renovated after it was recently sold.

Forensic officers will return to the scene on Tuesday.
