Suspicious package shuts down part of Melbourne's CBD
A suspicious package in Melbourne's CBD shut down parts of Russell and Lonsdale streets overnight.
A cordon was in place for several hours between Little Londsdale and Little Bourke streets as police assessed the package and businesses in the area were evacuated.

Images taken by 9news.com.au journalist Sean Davidson showed bomb experts focusing on the entrance of department store QV.
A bomb disposal robot was used by officers to carry out the operation.
A Victoria Police spokesperson told 9news.com.au the cordon was lifted at 12.45am and the package deemed safe.
No one was injured.
