Body found near Bondi Beach identified as missing 20-year-old Endicott Ackerman

A body found at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on the weekend has been formally identified as that of a 20-year-old American citizen.

Sydney University student Endicott Ackerman disappeared after jumping into heavy surf on June 6, during Sydney’s severe storms.

A man’s body was found just after 8am on Saturday, about 450m east of Bondi Beach.

Authorities were called and a police vessel was dispatched to the area and the body was recovered.

The body was identified as Mr Ackerman’s following the use of dental records.

Officers from the Eastern Suburbs LAC have conducted inquiries into his death.
