Body doubles, CGI bring Walker to life in last film

Paul Walker's face and voice will be digitally added to body doubles acting in his role to complete the unfinished Fast and Furious film, according to a source with inside knowledge of the project.

In a move that some predict may upset fans, producers of the popular franchise have decided to use CGI (computer-generated imagery) to keep Walker in the latest film following his tragic death in a high-speed crash late last year.

"They have hired four actors with bodies very similar to Paul's physique and they will be used for movement and as a base," a source close to production told the New York Daily News.

"Paul's face and voice will be used on top using CGI."

Shooting for Fast and Furious 7 has resumed after Universal Pictures confirmed in December that Walker would appear in the latest instalment in the franchise, although how that would be achieved was not disclosed.

Co-star Vin Diesel revealed publicly images from the "last scene we filmed together", saying at the time that Fast and Furious 7 "will be released".

The film is due for release on April 10 next year.

Walker's death in a crash in Los Angeles on November 30 resulted in an outpouring of grief for the 40-year-old actor.
