The Block host Scott Cam building for a cancer cure
It's the house that love built, and the team that putting together are hoping it will also give children's cancer the boot.
Land, building materials and even tradies' time have all been donated for the construction at Appin in Sydney's southwest.
Once complete, the home will be auctioned off with every dollar raised going to the Children's Cancer Institute.
The Block host Scott Cam is overseeing the project.
"The Children's Cancer Institute is the only type of facility in Australia that just does children's cancer and they are going for zero deaths by 2030," he said.
The two-storey house includes four bedrooms, two bathrooms and even a home theatre.
Bill McDonald from McDonald Jones is one of the people behind the Build For A Cure project, while the land was donated by Chad Walker from the Walker Corporation.
The Children's Cancer Institute is hoping to put the money raised to good use.
Professor Murray Norris said one central focus was developing personalised treatments for children who were not responding to traditional medicine.
The house will be auctioned off on October 22.
Cam expected the final price to be around $800,000.
