Black Friday's biggest bargains for Aussie shoppers

The US shopping phenomenon of Black Friday has taken off in Australia in recent years, and local retailers are getting into the spirit.

Black Friday originated in the US; a shopping extravaganza that immediately followed Thanksgiving.

But in the last three years, Aussie retailers have embraced the phenomenon, which heralds the beginning of the Christmas shopping period.

"With global shipping now being so prevalent, Australian customers and shoppers can benefit from the excitement that was generated initially out of the US - it's become a global festival," retail expert Paul Greenberg said.

If crowds aren't your thing, I'd suggest getting online tomorrow, for some huge Black Friday sales.

And if you’re in the market for some new make-up – today is the day to buy up big.

Priceline is having a mega beauty sale, with 50 percent off all cosmetics (including Maybelline, L'Oreal and Revlon). Make-up giant Sephora has 15 percent off storewide tomorrow only.

There's a great selection of tech deals at Catch.com.au.

A Playstation VR, camera and two games was $549, but tomorrow the bundle will cost just $299.

And if you're in the market for a TV, a Jaeger 32" HD LED TV with a built-in DVD player is $149.

Kogan also has some great deals on electrical products, like a 4 Stroke Petrol Refurbished Lawn Mower for just $99 - save $150. They've also shaved $400 off the Apple iPhone 7, which is now $949.

If you still like hitting the shops - don't despair. There are bargains to be bagged in store.

Myer has 30 percent off selected men and women's clothing, and 20 percent off jewellery and watches, while David Jones is offering 30 percent off swimwear, and 40 percent off beach towels.

And there's even overseas holidays on sale.

Trafalgar is slashing $1000 per couple off tours around destinations like Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Italy, Canada and the US.

But be quick - the offer ends Monday.
