Bill's Bus needs money for Tas ferry fare

The Labor party is calling for donations to get Bill Shorten's campaign bus across Bass Strait.

In a social media campaign launched on Monday ALP senator Sam Dastyari appears in a short video clip fielding demands from the island state's only Labor MP Julie Collins, along with party senators, to get the bus emblazoned with the opposition leader's larger-than-life face to the southern state.

"Starting in Cairns and travelling throughout Queensland down to Canberra, the Labor campaign successfully raised funds to get the Bill Bus to Melbourne last week," the party said in the appeal, hoping to bring the 54-seater to Tassie.
