Bernardi receives settlement over article

Liberal senator Cory Bernardi has received a settlement from The Saturday Paper over an article published in February.

The article, for which the newspaper has apologised, falsely claimed one of the senator's companies had been forced to surrender its security dealer licence after a review by the securities watchdog, and that the senator improperly used his electoral office as a place of business.

Senator Bernardi noted on the parliamentary pecuniary interest register he received a "settlement" over the article, but did not disclose the amount.
